Brows
As eyebrows frame the face, this treatment benefits those with eyebrows that are fair, thin, sparse, scarred or generally uneven. Those clients with hair loss as a result of alopecia or illness will find this treatment extremely beneficial. Well groomed eyebrows can act as an instant face lift giving you a more youthful looking appearance. Hair stroke eyebrows give the illusion of real hairs.
Eyes
An eyeliner treatment could be a lash enhancement where pigment is placed between the lashes, along the lash line, making them look naturally thicker which defines the eyes. Or you may prefer a fuller line to save you applying gel, pencil or liquid liner every day! This treatment is perfect for those with sensitive or watery eyes or contact lens wearers.
Lips
A lip procedure can rectify uneven shaped lips, make the lips appear fuller and define the lip line helping to minimise lipstick ‘bleeding’ into the fine lines around the mouth.
All of the above treatments are a 2 part process – a retouch must be taken within 4-12 weeks after the initial treatment which is included in the price.
The decision to have permanent make up needs careful consideration so choose your technician carefully. The procedure is an art, so look at their portfolio of work, making sure they are not library pictures and ask lots of questions such as how long they trained for and how much experience they have had.
-
Q What happens when I come for my treatment and how long does it take?
A Jackie will carry out a detailed consultation to establish the clients’ expectations, such as colour and shape. She will then draw the design, making sure the client is entirely happy, before beginning the procedure. It is best to allow a maximum of 2 hours for the appointment.
-
Q What does it feel like?
A Clients ask if it is like having a body tattoo – the answer is not at all – as the needle only goes in to the surface of the skin. A topical anaesthetic is used to reduce discomfort. Many clients say that it is less painful than having their brows tweezed or threaded!
-
Q Is the treatment safe?
A Only the most advanced digital equipment supplied by Nouveau Contour is used. Sterile needles are used and the pigments are medical grade.
-
Q How long does the pigment stay in the skin?
A This depends on the lifestyle of the client – how much sun exposure, whether bleaching or exfoliating skin care products are used etc. Generally, clients return for a retouch every 18 months to 2 years.
-
Q How will I look directly after the treatment?
A The pigment colour will be 30-50% darker immediately afterwards. This will gradually flake off and lighten over the next 3 -7 days. The skin can look slightly red and with an eye treatment the lids can be slightly puffy, however this will settle down after a few hours.
-
Q Do I need a retouch?
A In order to perfect the design, a retouch treatment may be necessary which must be taken between 4 -12 weeks after the first treatment. This is included in the price of the original treatment. Any treatments booked after 12 weeks will be charged.
